Ninety-three years ago – on September 13, 1931 – Wisła Kraków left winger Mieczysław Balcer won the gold medal at the Polish Athletics Championships in the decathlon. After a grueling competition, Balcer played in Wisła's league match against Czarni Lwów that same afternoon, scoring the winning goal to make it 2-1 in the 89th minute. Balcer's feat is one of the greatest achievements in the history of Polish sports.
