Jaroch: Make another surprise

It was an incredible night! Wisła Kraków overcame their first-leg deficit, sending the match to overtime and then winning the penalty shootout against Spartak Trnava, securing a spot in the next round of the Conference League qualifiers. After the game, we spoke with our defender, Bartosz Jaroch.

"I think we started the match well. We had the first half under control, scored a goal, and I think after that we believed we could turn this match around and advance. At halftime, we said it was looking good and we weren't changing anything, we just needed to improve our efficiency, because there were so many chances. It's a shame we couldn't finish the match sooner," he admitted. "Our confidence was evident from the first minute. That earlier match against Ruch helped us somewhat, as it also boosted us after those defeats. After the matches in Vienna and Pruszków, it wasn't an easy period. We needed a boost like the win against Ruch," the defender noted.

The White Star performed much better during Thursday's match than in the first leg against Spartak. How did he assess their opponent's form? "Did anything surprise us? We played a really good match, imposed our style of play. I think the opponent might have been surprised by our performance. Kudos to us for being able to force extra time. It's a shame about the goal conceded, as it was one of Spartak's few chances. It's great that we won and move on," he analyzed.

The match against Spartak was full of excitement. The fans who came to Reymont Stadium certainly couldn't be disappointed. "I think we've treated our fans to matches with such a high level of emotion before. It was no different this time. Emotions were high until the very end, with over a dozen penalty shootouts. Some, like me, had to take two shots. And it's great that it had a happy ending," Jaroch said.

The win against Spartak secured a spot in the fourth round of the Conference League qualifiers. "It's fantastic that a club from the second tier has advanced to the fourth round. This is an incredible story. All that's left for us is to pull off another upset in the next two legs. Wins like these are driving. They give us confidence that we can beat the best. It will definitely help us," he continued.
