Jaroch: You train and play football for matches like these.
A Champions' Match for the White Star! The Krakow team secured a resounding 5-0 victory in their away match against Ruch Chorzów. After the match, we spoke with Wisła defender Bartosz Jaroch.
After the match, the Wisła Kraków defender reflected on the previous match against Znicz Pruszków. "We know that Znicz played with a low pressing style, which made it harder for us to break through their defense. We have to perform better in these situations and win matches," Jaroch began.
The defender started the previous match on the bench, coming on in the second half. "Of course I wanted to start the previous match, but it's great to be back in the starting eleven against Ruch," he commented happily, adding: "I'll try to give my all in the next matches to prove my worth."
Moving on to analyze the match in Chorzów, the White Star defender emphasized the importance of winning against the Blues. "It was an important victory. We wanted to bring back the positive energy and approach the next matches in a positive mood. I think the first few days after Znicz were difficult, but the later days brought more energy. The joy of playing returned, and I think we showed that on Saturday," he continued.
"We paid attention to pressing – both ours and our opponent's. We also adjusted our defensive positioning. We practiced transitioning to a counterattack, and I think it looked good, certainly better than last time," commented Wiślak.
Crosses played a significant role in the match against Ruch Chorzów. From these, the Kraków team created dangerous opportunities, including scoring goals. "The quality of the crosses was better, and we also had more space in the penalty area because the opponent wasn't so low and close to us. Kudos to the boys for capitalizing on these opportunities," he noted.
Saturday's match brought a lot of joy to Wisła, but it's worth noting the fantastic atmosphere created by both teams' fans. "It's a beautiful thing. You train and play football for matches like these. Kudos to the Wisła and Ruch fans for creating such an atmosphere. Nothing but playing in front of such a crowd every week," concluded Jaroch.
