Jakub Stępak extended his contract with the White Star
17-year-old Jakub Stępak has committed his future to Wisła Kraków. The young goalkeeper signed a new contract that runs until June 30, 2026.
Jakub Stępak was born on March 20, 2006. The 17-year-old goalkeeper is a product of the White Star, whose colors he has donned since 2013. He began his career with the club from Wawel Castle playing for the U-8 team. He then progressed through the age groups, making steady progress and constantly improving his skills. He gained experience on the pitch by playing for all the teams participating in the Central Junior League, among others. Stępak has also been called up to the Polish youth national teams. In the autumn round of the current league campaign, he defended the goal for the CLJ U-19 team, but his name is also on the list of players registered for the JAKO IV Liga competition. This season, the 17-year-old has appeared in all of the U-19 team's matches, keeping two clean sheets. The young goalkeeper is currently training with the Kraków first team, with whom he will soon participate in a training camp in Turkey.
"I'm very happy. I'm glad to continue my adventure with Wisła Kraków. This is something very special for me, as I've been with this club since I was a kid. Throughout my time here, I've climbed the ranks and I've seen that the coaches appreciate it," said the young goalkeeper after signing his new contract.
A great opportunity
The 17-year-old also spoke about working with the White Star's first team, with whom he will soon be heading to Turkey for a training camp where the team will hone their form for the spring season. "I recently had the opportunity to show myself as I'm flying out with the first team for training camp. This is a great opportunity for me, one I'd like to thank for, and one I'm very happy about. Everyone at the Academy strives to earn their place in the first team. The news that I'm starting training with the first team was a huge motivation for me and a signal that I'm heading in the right direction," concluded Stępak.
Congratulations and good luck Kuba!
