Filip Gryglak will be another new face in Wisła Kraków's second team this season. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder joined Reymont on a permanent transfer and signed a one-year contract with the option to extend it for another season.
Gryglak has made his Ekstraklasa debut with Śląsk Wrocław, among other clubs. Filip Gryglak is the latest player to join Wisła Kraków's second team. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a one-year contract with the White Star, which includes the option to extend for another season. The defensive midfielder joins Wisła on a permanent transfer.
Gryglak is a product of Nysa Zgorzelec, from where he joined Wojskowy Śląsk in the 2016/2017 season. A season later, he joined Śląsk Wrocław, where he rose through the youth ranks and made his Ekstraklasa debut for the Wrocław club's first team in December 2021.
The defensive midfielder has made significantly more appearances for Śląsk's second team, where he made 17 appearances in the fall round of the 2023/2024 season (13 in the Betclic Second League, one in the Fortuna Polish Cup, and three in the Provincial Polish Cup), scoring one goal. He has spent the last six months playing for Wisła Płock's second team in the Third League.
"The last few months haven't been great for me in Płock. I know a few players from Wisła's second team who spoke very positively about the atmosphere in the team, among other things. I thought this would be a good incentive for me to finally get back on track and rebuild." - says the 19-year-old.
After making his Ekstraklasa debut with Śląsk Wrocław, Gryglak struggled with injuries that severely hampered his plans and halted his career development.
"After my Ekstraklasa debut, I had a three-month break after colliding with an opponent in a junior match and severely bruising my hip. Later, when I returned to the pitch, I played half a round for the second team in the second league and tore ligaments in my knee. That meant another six-month break." – he recalls.
Gryglak has specific hopes for playing in the third league.
"I'd just like to rebuild myself. I'm keen to finally train injury-free and get more minutes on the pitch. I know that once I get into the right rhythm, I'm confident in my skills and I'll be fine. Everyone would like to play at a higher level, but for now, my goal is simply to perform well at the third division level," concluded Filip Gryglak.
Filip, welcome to the Wisła family!
