Filip Baniowski called up to the Polish U-18 National Team
Wisła Kraków's young talent, Filip Baniowski, has been called up to the Polish U18 national team and will join the national team in a friendly tournament in Spain. Coach Łukasz Sosin's side will face Wales (March 20, 3:00 PM), Scotland (March 22, 3:00 PM), and Sweden (March 25, 11:00 AM) in Pinatar.
Baniowski, born on February 15, 2007, in Zakopane, began his football career at the Wisła Czarny Dunajec Football Academy – a partner club of Wisła Kraków. He joined the Reymont team in 2020, gradually developing his skills and competing in the Central Junior League. His attitude was noticed by both the Wisła first-team coaching staff and national team coaches. He has already played for the U-15 and U-17 teams, gaining valuable experience on the international stage.
This season, he has made 18 appearances in the Betclic 3rd League and the regional Polish Cup, scoring two goals. He also contributed to the CLJ U-19 team, scoring once. At the beginning of the year, he extended his contract with Wisła Kraków until June 30, 2026, with the option of extending it for another season. He trained with the first team and participated in a winter camp in Turkey, and on February 17, he made his Fortuna 1st League debut against Znicz Pruszków.
Now, he faces another challenge: representing the Polish national team on the international stage. We're rooting for Filip Baniowski's successful performances in Spain!
