A good beginning, a bitter end: #WISWPŁ 1:3
Although Wisła Kraków started the match well and quickly took the lead, a series of costly errors and offensive ineffectiveness meant that the three points went to Płock. The Kraków team was forced to swallow the bitter bitterness of defeat, losing to Wisła Płock 3-1. Angel Rodado scored for the White Star from the penalty spot.
From the first whistle, the match was played at a fast pace, with both teams looking to assert their attacking prowess. In the fourth minute, Rodado had his first dangerous shot, though the ball flew wide of the post. Moments later, Kraków won a corner, but again failed to threaten the opposition's goal. The hosts came very close to taking the lead in the seventh minute when Zwoliński headed the ball in from close range following a throw-in, but Gradecki parried it for a corner. Wisła Kraków continued to press, leaving the visiting defense visibly disoriented at times. The home side's efforts paid off in the 13th minute. After a foul on Mikulec, the referee called for a penalty, and Rodado flawlessly converted the penalty. The White Star took the lead and seemed to be in control, but the celebrations were short-lived. Moments after Wisła took the lead, Kuczka sent the ball into the penalty area, and Letkiewicz made a fatal error, letting the ball slip from his hands. The ball fell into the net and the visitors equalized, almost immediately taking the initiative away from their opponents. The game calmed down somewhat in the following minutes, but the visitors consistently looked for opportunities to take the lead. Letkiewicz redeemed himself somewhat in the 20th minute, saving a dangerous shot after a Płock counterattack. In the 37th minute, the hosts were again penalized for a lapse in concentration. Jaroch lost the ball in his own half, and Sekulski capitalized on the mistake, running into the penalty area and giving the goalkeeper no chance with a precise shot near the post.
Fruitless attempts and the final blow
After the break, Wisła Kraków began to fight back, trying to quickly surprise their opponents. In the 53rd minute, Duarte shot from distance, but Gradecki was once again on target. The hosts were increasingly frequent in the opposition's penalty area, but they were lacking in concrete results. In the 68th minute, Rodado unleashed a dangerous header from a corner, but his shot was too soft to catch the goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Duda tried his luck with a shot from the corner of the penalty area, but his shot was too soft to catch the goalkeeper off guard. As the match drew to a close, the Kraków side's determination grew, but their commitment didn't translate into clear-cut chances. In stoppage time, everything became clear. In the 95th minute, Pomorski raced on a counterattack and passed the ball to Kuczka, who made it 3-1 for the visitors.
