The U-17 team has started preparations for the CLJ
The U-17 team, led by coach Patryk Jałocha, has begun preparations for the spring round of the CLJ competition. The young players met with the coaching staff during their first training session on Tuesday, January 7th, and in the coming weeks they will gradually implement their plan to achieve peak fitness before the start of the second half of the season. During this time, Wisła will play a number of friendly matches.
The first training session took place early in the morning, during which the young players were tested on their arm and leg strength. The inaugural training session also included time for on-field activity, where technical and tactical exercises were conducted. Over the next two days, the team continued to participate in introductory training sessions and endurance and speed tests. On-field training is scheduled for Friday, and on Saturday, the Kraków team will face off in their first friendly match.
In addition to the aforementioned match, coach Patryk Jałocha's players will compete in eight other friendlies, which will serve as a good warm-up before their league campaigns. The White Star players will face teams such as Górnik Zabrze, GKS Tychy, Zagłębie Sosnowiec, Hutnik Kraków, and Wieczysta Kraków.
Twenty-three players participated in the first training session, with several players being moved to the U-19 team due to personnel issues. Three players previously playing for the U-16 team joined the team: Wiktor Maziarz, Mateusz Pałka, and Karol Łakomy.
There have been several significant changes to the U-17 coaching staff. Szymon Kołodziejczuk has been appointed goalkeeping coach and will also work with the U-19 team. For the past two and a half years, Kołodziejczuk has coached Hutnik Kraków's goalkeepers, including the U-17s, and will now take on the Wisła goalkeepers' training. The team also gained a new motor skills coach. Mateusz Fortuna has been moved to the Wisła Kraków reserves, and his position on the coaching staff has been taken by Kamil Kozłowski, who has nearly five years of experience working with third-division Wisła Skawina.
The White Star team will spend all its preparations in Myślenice and will return to league play on March 1.
