Derby win against the CLJ leader
On April 27th, the CLJU16 team played against league leaders FSA Kraków. The match ended in a 2-1 victory for the White Star.
"We started the derby match against FSA by dominating the opposing team and not allowing them to get out of our half. We opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a goal from Alicja Kołodziejska.
Fortunately, we didn't repeat last week's story and maintained our focus and fighting spirit until the very end. Paradoxically, one of my best moments as a coach was when FSA tied the game late in the match. Our team's response was exemplary. We didn't let our opponents take the initiative despite a few individual attempts, which is a reason for celebration for our coaching staff. We were very active offensively until the very end and managed to create numerous dangerous chances throughout the match, which unfortunately we didn't convert into goals. Late in the match, Weronika Piech sealed our victory by keeping her composure and capitalizing on a one-on-one opportunity.
I'm proud of our team, which didn't approach the match against the leaders as a "cutthroat" but entered the competition on equal terms. Each player left their hearts on the pitch and showed the character and confidence that is in this team. The three points against the leaders confirmed our belief that as long as we fight, anything is possible," concluded Adrian Kruba.
