Duda: There must be sacrifice
The White Star team failed to repeat their Polish Cup feat and had to accept defeat in the league. The Krakow team lost 1-3 to Motor Lublin in front of their home crowd.
"In serious football, it doesn't matter if you play every three, two, or four days; you have to be ready. We have everything we need at the club to recover properly. It certainly might have hindered us in some way that we had less time to prepare for this match than Motor, but I don't think it played a key role. We had a clear head before the match and were well-rested physically. We also had a game plan, but that red card ruined it a bit. Despite that, we tried to continue playing. Up to a point, it looked good, but in the second half, individual mistakes meant we couldn't even draw the match," he began.
The R22 team had to cope with ten men from the fifth minute after Bartosz Jaroch's red card. This wasn't the first match in which Wisła failed to deliver while playing with a shorthanded team. "First of all, in this match, the card for Bartek Jaroch came very early. We hadn't even recovered from the shock, and we were already given a goal. That opened us up, we managed to take the initiative and equalize. I think by the end of the first half, we showed that even with ten men, we can dominate the pitch. In the second half, we also tried to play high and capitalize on our opponent's mistakes, but I think we lacked effectiveness, and towards the end, we also lost some energy. There were too many simple mistakes. Of course, if you play with ten men, the opponent will have an advantage in different areas of the pitch. You have to be especially focused then, and we lacked that, and that's why we made these simple mistakes," he explained.
The Reymont team has three away games in a row ahead of them. Moreover, in Płock, they'll have to cope without suspended players. "We have a strong squad, and everyone has to be ready to come in and help the team. The guys are coming back from injuries, so they'll have opportunities. They'll definitely add some quality," he noted. "What we need to do now is to get our heads up immediately. The worst thing we could do right now is look at the table and get down. We're out of the playoff zone, but there's still a lot of playing time left. We need to start winning, and if we manage to do that once or twice, this team will start to get motivated, and everything will look better. It doesn't matter whether we're playing at home or away. We're Wisła Kraków, and we simply need to be fully committed to showing our best. We need to come out in Płock with high pressure, surprise our opponents. There has to be sacrifice, we have to give everything, and we have to stick to our plan. I believe that everything will be fine then," he announced.
