Chichkan: The most important thing is to win
Finally, a breakthrough arrived. After several disappointing matches for Wisła Kraków, coach Kazimierz Moskal's side secured a perfect record in a home game against Ruch Chorzów. A significant contribution to this victory was made by Wisła's goalkeeper, Anton Chichkan, with whom we spoke after the match.
The goalkeeper for Wisła Kraków started Monday's match, but in the cup clash, it was Kamil Broda who stood between the posts for Wisła. "We work together. The competition is good. Everyone wants to play, to show their skills," Chichkan commented.
Moving on to analyze the league clash, the White Star goalkeeper stated: "We played well in the first half, we controlled the action, but we need to use the ball more. We need to create more offensive actions and capitalize on opportunities. We scored a goal at the end of the first half, but in the second half our opponent played with 10 men, and yet we didn't play well. The most important thing is to win."
The Kraków goalkeeper was also asked about his tactics for the match. Chichkan was visibly experimenting with both long passes to his teammates and shorter ones. "We have our own style, our own philosophy of play. We have briefings before the match, and the coach tells us what he expects from us. It depends on who we play next. For me, it's fine whether we play short or long passes. However, I think we benefit slightly more from playing from the goal," he said.
A win against Ruch Chorzów is crucial for the team's league position. It could also give the R22 players the impetus to achieve better results in future matches. "We hope this match will be a good omen for our future. Let's hope we play well until the end, and let's hope we play well in front of our fans," Cziczkan continued.
Now, the Krakow team faces a rematch against Spartak Trnava. How does the goalkeeper view the match and what are his thoughts on the previous encounter? "The first half wasn't bad, but after the break, I don't know what happened to us. We conceded three goals in twenty minutes. We definitely can't play like that, but we can do the same now. It's all in our hands. We have to show our best on the pitch," he concluded.
