Bąk: we need more calculation and a cool head
- We definitely lacked possession in the opponent's half. We need more calculation and a cool head to prevent this from happening," said Bartosz Bąk, coach of Wisła Kraków's second team, after the away match against Świdniczanka Świdnik (3-3). Wisła Kraków led 3-0 at halftime, but they couldn't take the full advantage away from Świdnik.
Wisła played a brilliant first half. Two goals from Yehor Khromykh and one from Maciej Kuziemka gave the White Star a 3-0 lead.
The hosts, after the break, began to fight back. In the 47th minute, they forced Piotr Zagórowski to surrender for the first time, and in stoppage time, they managed to equalize the score with two goals.
"We're very disappointed after this match, because we actually dropped two points. We played very well in the first half. We controlled the transition phases, were able to keep possession, and were effective in pressing. That's how we want to play matches; that was our style of play. Especially since in the first match we had trouble building up the ball at our feet because the opponent played very aggressively. We put a lot of work into this during the week, and the results were visible," summarizes Bartosz Bąk, manager of the White Star's second team.
"We started the second half sluggishly and conceded a goal early. And it was easy. We should have kept possession of the ball longer towards the end. After we scored, our opponents believed they could punish us. We played the final minutes under the same conditions our opponents wanted. We engaged in direct play. Our opponents were shooting the ball into our penalty area, and as we know, when the ball is in the air, there's no way to control it. And that backfired on us," adds Bąk.
After the first half, there was no indication of this turn of events. Wisła dictated the game, but within minutes, the situation completely spiraled out of control.
" I don't know if it was due to inexperience. We definitely lacked the ability to keep the ball in the opponent's half. We need more calculation and a cool head to prevent this from happening. The end of the match got out of control, and that's very painful when you look at the whole match. Especially the first half, where the opponent practically didn't threaten us. The mood in the team is such that we want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible and redeem ourselves," Bąk says.

Youth on the offensive
After two matches in the third division, Wisła Kraków have two points. Coach Bartosz Bąk's men managed to find the back of the net four times, with all goals coming from youngsters Maciej Kuziemka and Yehor Khromykh, who joined the second team permanently before the start of the current season.
" It's no surprise to me. I see how hard they work in training and how many chances they can create during matches. We can only keep our fingers crossed that their good form continues," concluded coach Bartosz Bąk.
In the third round of the Betclic III League, Wisła will face Sandecja Nowy Sącz next Saturday. The match will begin at 12:00 noon at the Prądniczanka stadium.
