No points in the season opener. Sparta Kazimierza Wielka 6-2 Wisła II Kraków
Wisła II Kraków kicked off the 2025/26 Betclic 3rd League season with an away match against Sparta Kazimierza Wielka. The opening match didn't go as planned for the White Star's second team, who, after a close first half, ultimately lost 6-2 to the hosts.
The match began with attacking play from both teams and several dynamic moves from both sides. Although the hosts scored first, Wisła refused to give up and responded effectively, equalizing the score. Szywacz scored for Wisła with a well-placed shot from a tight angle. The score remained open until halftime, and the game offered hope for a favorable outcome.
The second half, however, proved much more difficult. In the 60th minute, Sparta regained the lead, after Krysa's intervention, the ball fell to Zębala, who with a powerful shot gave our goalkeeper no chance. The following minutes brought even more problems, first Stanek capitalizing on uncertainty in the penalty area after a corner kick, and moments later Bajorek added a fourth after a clearance from outside the box and a quick shot from distance.
In the 81st minute, Wisła II had to manage with ten men – Radosław Skała was shown a red card for a foul on a player who was in a clear position. Sparta capitalized on the advantage, with the hosts first winning a penalty, and moments later, Stanek successfully converted it, extending the lead to 6-1.
Despite the high score, Wisła didn't give up. Benedyktowicz scored the consolation goal in stoppage time, making the score 6-2 in favor of the hosts. The first match of the season ended with a big surprise.
The second team of the White Star faces many challenges, but also opportunities to show their potential in the upcoming rounds.
