Bąk: We have to stay focused

Wisła Kraków's second team took another step towards promotion to the third league on Saturday. Bartosz Bąk's side defeated Poprad Muszyna 4-0 away, strengthening their lead in the league table, now 10 points ahead of their rivals. "This is football, and until we confirm this promotion with the appropriate number of points, we have to remain focused," says the White Star's second team manager.

Wisła's team shows no signs of slowing down in the JAKO IV League. Coach Bartosz Bąk's side added another three points to their tally on Saturday afternoon. This time, Wisła's team scored four goals against Poprad Muszyna. However, facing a team fighting to stay in the league was no easy task. Wisła opened the scoring just before halftime, and the goal net was only broken after the break.

"We entered the match very focused. We knew it wouldn't be easy against an opponent fighting to stay in the relegation zone. We played a positional attack for most of the game. In the first half, we had a lot of shots from outside the box, but we couldn't find the back of the net. We opened the scoring just before the end of the first half. That goal brought a lot of calm. At halftime, we discussed what we could do to make our play more effective. In the second half, we managed to create even more chances, which we converted into more goals. Furthermore, in the second match, we played at zero behind, which is encouraging for the final part of the season," said coach Bartosz Bąk after the match.

A great comeback

Among the many other positives after another victory, the return of Marcin Bartoń certainly stands out. The 20-year-old striker came on late in the match and sealed the win a minute later.

"We're happy to have Marcin back; of course, he's not yet physically ready to play from the start. Above all, I wanted him to get on the pitch and enjoy the game. The reaction of the entire team after Marcin's goal, from the staff and players, was eloquent. We were delighted with his goal. I think everything is now on track for him to return to optimal condition. We're not putting any unnecessary pressure on him. We want him to rebuild his form week by week, because he's a player whose skills we believe in," explains the coach of the White Star's second team.

Wisła are closing in on their long-awaited promotion. With eight rounds remaining in the season, they are top of the table with 73 points, already 10 points clear of LKS Jawiszowice.

"Our team consists of players whose athleticism undoubtedly deserves to play in a higher league. This is football, and until this promotion is confirmed by a sufficient number of points, we must remain focused and determined. I try at every step to remind the players not to look too far ahead. We're focusing on the next match; that's our strategy, and it's working so far. The most important match for us is the next one against Dalin Myślenice," explains Bartosz Bąk.

Wisła's second-place team will face Myślenice in their next series of matches. The match is scheduled for Saturday. The first whistle at the Prądniczanka stadium will sound at 11:00 AM.
