No points: Znicz - Wisła 2:1
It wasn't a successful week for Wisła Kraków. After losing in European competition, the White Star lost 2-1 to Znicz Pruszków. Angel Rodado scored the only goal for the R22 team in the 18th minute.
The opening moments of the match brought Wisła's first opportunity. A ball from midfield found Rodado, who took a shot, but it hit a defender. The Kraków side continued their attacks. This time, Sukiennicki found his chance, but he couldn't find the back of the net either. In the 13th minute, a set piece in the Wisła penalty area sent the ball into the White Star's penalty area again, but ultimately, no goal was scored. This feat was finally achieved five minutes later, when Rodado found the back of the net after a fine move. From that point, play shifted somewhat to the midfield, and the R22 players began to allow their opponents more opportunities.
In the 27th minute, Znicz fired a shot on target, which Chichkan quickly collected. One hundred and twenty seconds later, Uryga headed a set piece, but the ball sailed wide of the post. The final quarter of an hour saw Kraków dominate, but the ball refused to find the back of the net. Sukiennicki took a shot after one play, and in the next, Kiakos fell to the ground under pressure, but the referee didn't award a penalty. Just before the whistle for the locker room, things became dangerous in front of Wisła's goal, but they failed to produce a goal.
Lots of emotions after the break
After the break, coach Moskal brought on Baena in place of Starzyński. Kraków opened the second half with two shots on goal, but without a goal. The following minutes were filled with pressure from Wisła, who were searching for a chance to increase their lead. In the 60th minute, Gogół nearly scored. Moments later, Sukiennicki had a chance.
Unfortunately, the White Star had to manage with ten men from the 72nd minute, as Kiss received a red card (his second yellow) for handball in the penalty area. Just five minutes later, Znicz equalized through Łukasz Wiech.
Majewski scored six minutes before the end of the match, but the Znicz player was offside. In stoppage time, in a completely unjustified opportunity, the referee awarded the opposition a penalty. The Znicz player made no mistake, and the hosts took the lead. Wisła, desperately fighting for an equalizer, failed to turn the tables, and the three points remained in Pruszków.
