Without arguments: Chrobry - Wisła 3:2
In the Christmas match played in Głogów, Chrobry won three points, defeating Wisła 3-2. Szymon Sobczak and Alan Uryga scored the goals for the White Star.
The R22 players went into Saturday's clash without Angel Rodado. Coach Rudé selected Szymon Sobczak to play at center-forward, with Jesus Alfaro right behind him.
Despite Wisła's increased activity in the opening stages, it was Chrobry's players who could have taken the lead first, but after a mix-up in the penalty area, Raton managed to grab the ball. After briefly shifting the focus of play to the Kraków penalty area, the hosts launched a counterattack in the 13th minute, which was illegally stopped by Jaroch, who received a yellow card. The home team failed to capitalize on the set piece, and the R22 players rushed towards goal. However, nothing came of it, and the Wisła goal became dangerous again.
In the 18th minute, an unguarded Jakub Kuzdra fired a close-range shot at Raton's goal... and only the crossbar saved the White Star from conceding! It seemed like it should have woken up the Wawel team, but it wasn't until the 32nd minute that Goku attempted a long-range shot, but the Głogów goalkeeper confidently caught the ball.
The final third of the first half saw the Lower Silesian team once again attacking. Wisła nearly had the ball in the net in the 35th minute, but they eventually won a corner. The pattern of play remained unchanged before the break, and coach Piotr Plewnia's players pushed for the lead. However, the final say belonged to the White Star, specifically Szymon Sobczak, who slotted the ball into the net just before the halftime whistle!
Answers after the break
The hosts made a strong start to the second half, equalizing just 120 seconds after the restart thanks to Szymon Bartlewicz's shot. The Głogów team tried to follow up, but this time the ball was cleared by Raton. Things got tense in the 53rd minute when the Orange and Black player tackled the emerging Raton, prompting the hosts to call a penalty. The referee had to use VAR to confirm the error, but ultimately he ruled it out. Mikołaj Lebedyński made no mistake from the 11th meter mark, giving his team the lead.
Wisła's attacking attempts lacked decisiveness, and in the 74th minute the hosts increased the score to 3-1. This time, Albert Zarówny scored, and Wisła had little time to even think about a draw.
The final minutes saw White Star's attempts, which ended in failure. Szot and Żyro were unlucky with their shots. In stoppage time, Szot cleared the ball from the goal, but moments later, Uryga scored the team's second goal of the match, reducing the scale of the defeat.
