Wisła Academy joins forces with AZS UEK Kraków
The Wisła Kraków Football Academy has partnered with the AZS UEK University Club, allowing players from the U-16 team to participate in futsal training. Playing under the AZS UEK Kraków banner, Wisła Kraków players are successfully competing in the Polish U-17 Championships, where they advanced through the first qualifying round.
The partnership between the Wisła Kraków Football Academy and the AZS UEK University Club in Kraków primarily aims to enable young players from the Wisła Academy to participate in futsal training. The U-16 team, along with other players under the AZS UEK Kraków banner, also compete in the qualifying rounds of the Polish U-17 Championships, where they successfully made it through the first round of qualifying.
In the tournament held in Jędrzejów, AZS UEK defeated Wisła Opatowice 3-0, Wanda Kraków 2-1, Victoria Skalbmierz 5-3 and drew 0-0 with Futsal Jędrzejów.
In the second phase of the qualifying round, which will be organised on December 21 by the University of Economics, AZS UEK will face Ruch Futsal Chorzów, APN Knurów and GKS SMS Futsal Tychy.
"Our team consists of students from the Wisła Academy's School of Sports Championship, as well as other players who play for other clubs. This collaboration aims to promote futsal among young people as an alternative path to development. We also want to encourage players to continue their education at universities," says Daniel Bukalski, president of AZS UEK Kraków.
The U-16 team is participating in futsal training. Jakub Piątek, Patryk Cichy, Piotr Hejmo, Karol Łakomy, Artem Shkapiak, and Wiktor Maziarz participated in the first qualifying tournament of the Polish Youth Championship.
