Adrian Filipek has finished his job at Wisła Kraków
After nearly a decade of service, Adrian Filipek has completed his tenure at Wisła Kraków. In recent months, he served as coordinator of the U-19 and U-17 teams and was also responsible for talent development, supporting the process of promoting the most talented players to higher levels of training.
A decade of work with Wisła youth
Filipek joined the club in 2015 and, over the course of ten years, managed teams in almost every age group at the Academy – from U-14, through U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18, and finally U-19. At each stage, he shared his knowledge and passion, nurturing successive generations of players. His expertise and results led to him being entrusted with increasingly responsible roles, including coordinating the Academy's sports department and serving as a liaison between the junior team and the first team. In June 2019, he also became the head coach of the reactivated Wisła Kraków reserve team, expanding his responsibilities to include working with the senior team in the fourth division.
He was also a member of the coaching staff of the first team of Wisła Kraków – he worked with Maciej Stolarczyk, and for a short time with Artur Skowronek during the club's time in the Ekstraklasa.
Successes with youth teams
Adrian Filipek's most important achievements include the Polish Junior League (CLJ U-18) runner-up finish in 2021, when his players claimed the silver medal at the national championships. A year later, Wisła defended their title and once again found themselves among the top teams in the Central Junior League, finishing just off the podium. Under his leadership, the team has always been among the league's leaders, showcasing an attacking style of play and striving for the highest goals.
Under his guidance, many talented players who now play for Wisła Kraków's senior team developed – Kacper Duda, Jakub Krzyżanowski, and Mariusz Kutwa. He also previously worked with other alumni, such as Piotr Starzyński, who also made his debut for the first team. Filipek emphasized not only football development but also building character and a professional approach to the sport.
Thanks and new challenges
Wisła Kraków would like to thank Adrian Filipek for his ten years of service to the club and his invaluable contribution to the development of young players under the White Star banner. His work over the years—from coaching the players, through managing the junior and reserve teams, to coordinating the talent development process—has left a lasting mark on the Wisła Kraków Academy.
We wish him luck and many more successes in his future career. We're confident that the experience he gained at Wisła will pay off in his future coaching and organizational challenges. Thank you, Adrian!
