The AZS UEK Kraków team competing in the Polish U-17 Futsal Championships features six players who normally represent the Wisła Kraków U-16 team. On Saturday, the Kraków team secured a spot in the third round of the competition at the University of Economics.
AZS UEK lost to Ruch Chorzów 0-5 and GKS Tychy 1-2, but in the decisive match against APN Knurów they triumphed 5-4.
"This was an incredible lesson in futsal for us. It's clear that the players from both Ruch Chorzów and GKS Tychy have experience competing in the Polish Youth Championships. Our team is just taking its first steps in this discipline. We're pleased that after a heavy defeat to Ruch, we played a very good match against Tychy, where we quickly learned our lesson. We are full of hope and determination to continue working hard," emphasizes AZS UEK Kraków coach Daniel Bukalski.
It is worth emphasizing that the AZS UEK Kraków team includes players born in 2009, who compete against opponents who are a year older.
In the third round of the competition, the Krakow team will face Wanda Kraków, Victoria Skalbmierz and Okocimski CANPACK Brzesko.
