AKF and Wisła Kraków establish cooperation – science and sport go hand in hand
Wisła Kraków has added another partner to its ranks – this time in the fields of science and higher education. The newly established partnership with the Academy of Physical Culture in Kraków (formerly the Academy of Physical Education) opens up new scientific, research, and organizational opportunities for the club, engaging both the university and its students in the life of the White Star.
The Academy of Physical Culture (AKF) and Wisła Kraków are joining forces to create a platform for collaborative work on many levels. This partnership will leverage the potential of both institutions in research, development projects, and the promotion of sport and a healthy lifestyle.
The cooperation will include the implementation of joint research and development projects, mutual support in raising funds for sports and scientific initiatives, and the exchange of knowledge and research results. A key aspect of the agreement is the promotion of sport as a safe and active form of leisure, as well as the promotion of fair play principles.
Wisła Kraków, as a club striving to base its operations on science and data analysis, views this collaboration as another step towards close integration with the scientific community. Joint efforts with experts and researchers will enable the development of modern training methods, the optimization of training processes, and the better utilization of players' potential through a scientific approach to sport.
A key element of the collaboration will be the involvement of the AKF Central Scientific and Research Laboratory, which provides the university's technological and research resources. Thanks to modern infrastructure and access to advanced diagnostic tools, it will be possible to conduct detailed physiological and biomechanical analyses, as well as assess the performance of athletes. This opens up new possibilities for monitoring and optimizing the training of Wisła Kraków athletes, as well as implementing innovative physical preparation methods.
"The establishment of cooperation between the Academy of Physical Culture in Krakow and Wisła Kraków is an extremely important step that will allow us to connect the worlds of science and sport at the highest level. Our university has been educating outstanding specialists in physical culture, sports medicine, and modern training methods for years. Thanks to this partnership, students, doctoral candidates, and research staff will be able to actively participate in the research process, analyzing data and developing solutions that support the development of Wisła Kraków athletes. Furthermore, the involvement of the Central Scientific and Research Laboratory of the Academy of Physical Culture opens up new possibilities in the areas of performance diagnostics, biomechanics, and optimization of athletes' physical preparation. We are pleased to support the club in its pursuit of a modern, scientific approach to sport, which will certainly contribute to its further development and success. I am convinced that this cooperation will bring mutual benefits – both for our academic community and for Wisła Kraków. We hope that joint efforts in research, education, and sports practice will inspire further innovative initiatives in Polish sport," said Prof. Dr. Hab. Andrzej Klimek - Rector of the Academy of Physical Culture in Krakow.
"Collaboration with AKF Kraków is another step towards building a club based on science, data, and modern training methods. This formal partnership will allow us to better utilize the knowledge and experience of AKF experts. Thanks to the involvement of the AKF Central Scientific and Research Laboratory, we will be able to monitor and optimize the physical preparation of our athletes even more effectively. We believe that a scientific approach to sport is key to raising the level of competition and achieving better results. We are pleased to be able to expand this collaboration, engaging both scientists and students who bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. This partnership is not only beneficial for Wisła Kraków, but also an important step towards the professionalization and modernization of Polish sport," he concluded. Jarosław Królewski - president of TS Wisła Kraków SA.
Additionally, AKF and Wisła Kraków will collaborate on organizing student internships and developing curricula, particularly in the context of new fields and specializations. AKF students, doctoral candidates, and academic staff will have the opportunity to conduct research in areas of mutual interest, and the university will support the club with its scientific and methodological expertise.
The agreement also provides for the co-organization of conferences, training sessions, and courses, as well as the joint promotion of events and initiatives implemented by both parties. This partnership represents a step towards dynamic development in both science and sport, benefiting not only the institutions but also the academic community and Wisła Kraków fans.
We look forward to working with you!
